Sixfaced

Sixfaced is an English compound adjective used to describe an object that has six faces. In mathematics and geometry, it points to a polyhedron with exactly six faces, though sixfaced is not the standard technical term. The formal name for such figures is hexahedron, derived from Greek words for six and face. The most familiar six-faced hexahedron is the cube, a regular hexahedron with six square faces of equal size.

Other six-faced polyhedra exist besides the cube. For example, a pentagonal pyramid has six faces: a pentagonal base and five triangular side faces. There are several topologically distinct hexahedra beyond the cube, differing in how their faces and edges are arranged while retaining six faces.

In everyday usage, sixfaced describes objects with six planar faces, such as certain dice, boxes, or sculptures. The best-known six-faced object is the six-sided die, typically a cube used in gaming. Dice designs vary, but standard six-faced dice are common in many games, and in some traditions opposite faces are arranged so their numbers sum to seven.
