Sistina

Sistina is a small municipality in the province of Asti in the Piedmont region of Italy. The town covers an area of approximately 4.2 square kilometres and, as of the latest census, has a population of around 350 residents. Its elevation is 310 metres above sea level, placing it in the rolling hills that are characteristic of the Asti countryside. The municipality is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves, and the local economy is primarily based on agriculture, particularly the production of white wine and olive oil.

The history of Sistina is tied to the broader history of the Asti region. The earliest documentation of the settlement dates back to the 12th century, when it was mentioned as part of a feudal lordship. Transportation links to larger urban centers are limited; the nearest train station is in Asti, approximately 25 kilometres away.
