Sijainni

Sijainni is a fictional town in the country of Kivara, used in educational and literary contexts to illustrate small-town governance and regional geography. It sits on a low coastal plain beside the Zeta River, with a temperate maritime climate, mild summers, and cool winters. The town is surrounded by forests to the west and farmland to the east; the river provides irrigation and once powered several mills.

Historically, Sijainni was founded in the 1720s by settlers from the highlands and was incorporated as a municipality in 1873. Its growth depended on milling, timber, and, later, rail-linked trade. In the late 20th century it shifted toward diversified small business and eco-tourism.

As of today, Sijainni has about 6,500 residents. The economy centers on agriculture (potatoes, barley, dairy), timber, and light manufacturing, with tourism tied to the Old Mill Heritage Site and canal paths. The town council consists of nine members led by a mayor, with elections every four years, and it participates in regional planning and public service programs. The community features a primary school and a secondary school, a library, and a cultural center. The annual Harvest and River Festival is a focal event, celebrating local produce and crafts. Notable sites include the Old Mill Heritage Site, Sijainni Market Square, and the Riverside Trail.
