Shkarkoj

Shkarkoj is an Albanian verb with two principal senses. In logistics and transport, it means to unload or discharge cargo from a vehicle, vessel, or facility. In information technology and everyday speech, it is used to mean to download data or files from the internet or a network to a local device. The sense is determined by the context; in maritime or warehouse contexts it refers to physical unloading, while in computing it refers to transferring data from a remote source.

The verb is transitive and regular in form. It belongs to the -oj class of Albanian verbs. Present tense examples: unë shkarkoj, ti shkarkon, ai/ajo shkarkon, ne shkarkojmë, ju shkarkoni, ata/ato shkarkojnë. Past tense forms include shkarkova (I unloaded or I downloaded), and the perfect uses have forms such as kam shkarkuar (I have unloaded/downloaded). Imperative forms include shkarko (informal) and shkarkoni (plural or formal). Usage notes: when referring to unloading physical goods, the direct object is the load or cargo and can be specified (për shembull nga kamioni, nga porta); when referring to downloading, the object is typically a file, program, or data.
