Shivalingam

The Shivalingam is an abstract or aniconic representation of the Hindu deity Shiva, worshipped as a symbol of generative power and the divine feminine energy. It is typically carved from stone, metal, clay, or even cow dung, and often depicts a cylindrical or conical pillar. The Shivalingam is a central object of worship in Shaivism, one of the major traditions within Hinduism.

Worship of the Shivalingam, known as Linga Puja, involves rituals such as bathing the lingam with water, milk, or other sacred liquids, and offering flowers, incense, and lamps. The lingam is often placed on a pedestal called the Yoni, which represents the womb or the divine feminine, symbolizing the cosmic union of masculine and feminine principles.
