ShirvanSalyan
Shirvan-Salyan is an economic region of Azerbaijan created in 2021 as part of the country’s regional development strategy. It combines central-southern areas around the Kura River, including the districts of Shirvan, Salyan, Sabirabad, and Saatly. The designation reflects a continuity with the historic Shirvan region and is intended to coordinate planning, investment, and infrastructure at the regional level.
Geographically, Shirvan-Salyan lies in the Kura-Aras lowland, characterized by flat terrain and a continental climate. The
Economy and development efforts focus on strengthening agricultural productivity, rural livelihoods, and related processing industries. In
Demographically, the population is predominantly Azerbaijani, with communities typical of central Azerbaijan. The official language is
