Shibasaburo

Shibasaburo Kitasato (北里柴三郎) was a Japanese physician and bacteriologist who contributed to early immunology and infectious disease research. He studied medicine at the University of Tokyo and pursued postgraduate work in Europe, developing expertise in bacteriology and serum therapy.
