Shapenwolken

Shapenwolken is a Dutch music group formed in 2000, best known for their eclectic blend of pop, rock, and jazz influences. The group's name, "shapenwolken," translates to "shape clouds" in English, a reference to the ephemeral nature of clouds and the group's desire to create music that is both formative and transitory.

The group consists of five members: Arie den Haag, Girish Kumar, Hetty Meyerink, Stas Hermans, and Theo Zuyen. Initially, the group's sound was characterized by dreamy, atmospheric arrangements and introspective lyrics. Over time, however, their music evolved to incorporate a broader range of styles, from dance-oriented pop to experimental rock.

Shapenwolken released their first album, "Hij maaakte een boel ruiten," in 2002 to moderate success. The album's quirky, offbeat sound attracted a small but dedicated following in the Netherlands. The group's subsequent releases, including "Dit is de meest onaangename dag," continued to expand on their musical horizons, experimenting with new textures and themes.
