Shaoguan
Shaoguan is a prefecture-level city in northern Guangdong Province, China. It is located at the confluence of the Nanjiang, Wengjiang, and Lianjiang rivers, which merge to form the Bei River, a major tributary of the Pearl River. The city has a long history, with settlements dating back to the Neolithic period. During the Qin Dynasty, Shaoguan was part of the Nanhai Commandery. It later became an important commercial and transportation hub, particularly during the Song and Ming dynasties.
