Seriki
Seriki is a traditional title used in Nigeria to designate the leader or head of a group, most commonly the leader of a Fulani settlement within Yoruba-speaking areas. In many towns, the Seriki serves as a liaison between the Fulani residents and other communities, and as the representative of the group in dealings with local authorities, markets, and security matters. The exact scope of authority attached to the title varies by locale: in some communities the position is largely ceremonial, while in others it carries substantive influence over matters such as grazing rights, cattle movements, and dispute mediation.
In addition to its use as a title, Seriki is also found as a surname or honorific
