Sepultar

Sepultura is a Brazilian heavy metal band formed in 1984 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. The band's original lineup consisted of three brothers: Wagner Lima Vieira (Riff), Paulo Jr. (bass), and Igor Cavalera (drums), with Max Cavalera (guitar) who would later become a key figure in the band's development. The trio's unique blend of genres, such as thrash metal, death metal, and Brazilian cultural elements, was an influential force in shaping the sound of extreme metal in the late 1980s.

The band released their self-titled debut album in 1985, which laid the groundwork for their future success. The death metal sound became more prominent in their second album, "Beneath the Remains", released in 1991. After several album releases, the band gained international success with the album "Arise" (1991), considered one of the most significant extreme metal albums of the 90s. The band's music evolved and incorporated various genres such as industrial metal and folk elements, further expanding their appeal.

After Max Cavalera parted ways with the band in 1996, Sepultura underwent several lineup changes and continued releasing albums. The band's most prominent period of success was between 1991 and 1996, but they have maintained a devoted fanbase worldwide.
