Septikupaaki
Septikupaaki, also known as a septic tank, is a crucial component of on-site sewage treatment systems. It is a watertight, underground chamber designed to receive and treat household wastewater, such as toilet waste, sink water, and laundry water. The primary function of a septic tank is to separate solids from liquids through a process called sedimentation. As wastewater enters the tank, it flows slowly, allowing solid waste to settle to the bottom and form a layer of sludge. Grease and oils float to the surface and form a layer of scum. The remaining liquid, now clarified, flows out of the tank and into a drain field or leach field, where it is further treated and dispersed into the soil.
Septic tanks are typically made of concrete, fiberglass, or polyethylene. They are usually cylindrical in shape
