Selfjamming

Selfjamming is a term used to describe a phenomenon where a device or system unintentionally interferes with its own operation. This can occur in various contexts, particularly in radio frequency (RF) communications. For example, a device might transmit a signal that is so strong or close in frequency to its own receiver that it saturates or overloads the receiver, making it unable to detect incoming signals. This is sometimes referred to as self-interference.

In wireless systems, selfjamming can arise from poor design, inadequate shielding, or the proximity of transmit and receive antennas. When a transmitter and receiver are part of the same unit and operate simultaneously, the transmitted signal can leak into the receiver path. This leakage is a form of self-generated noise.
