Sekvence

Sekvence is a term used in several languages, notably Czech and Slovak, to denote an ordered arrangement of items or events. In mathematical and computational contexts, a sekvence is an ordered list of elements indexed by natural numbers. The sequence may be finite or infinite, and properties such as convergence, monotonicity, and periodicity are studied in formal analysis. Operations on sekvence include indexing the i-th element, extracting subsequences, prefixes, or suffixes, and applying transformations to produce new sequences.

Beyond mathematics, sekvence appears in linguistics and narrative theory to describe ordered units such as phonemes, morphemes, words, or events arranged to form a structure or storyline.
