Sekréty

Sekréty, also known as excretions or secretions, are substances produced and released by glands or specialized cells within an organism. These substances serve a variety of functions crucial for maintaining life and carrying out bodily processes. Their production and release are regulated by complex physiological mechanisms.

There are two main categories of sekréty: exocrine and endocrine. Exocrine secretions are released onto the surface of the body or into body cavities through ducts. Examples include sweat, saliva, digestive enzymes, and mucus. Sweat helps regulate body temperature, while saliva aids in digestion and lubrication. Digestive enzymes break down food, and mucus protects internal linings from damage and infection.

Endocrine secretions, on the other hand, are hormones released directly into the bloodstream. These hormones travel throughout the body and act on specific target cells or organs to regulate various functions such as growth, metabolism, mood, and reproduction. Insulin, adrenaline, and estrogen are examples of endocrine secretions. The production and release of sekréty are vital for homeostasis, the maintenance of a stable internal environment, and are essential for overall health and survival.
