Scrubwrens
Scrubwrens are a group of passerine birds belonging to the family Acanthizidae, which also includes other small Australasian birds like thornbills and gerygones. They are endemic to Australia and are found across a variety of habitats, from dense scrubland and heath to woodlands and mallee regions. Their name derives from their preferred habitat, where they often forage in the undergrowth.
These small birds are typically brown or olive-green in colour, often with paler undersides and subtle streaking
Scrubwrens are generally solitary or found in pairs, though they may form small family groups outside of
