Schwarzfleckenkrankheiten, also known as black spot diseases, are a group of plant diseases characterized by the appearance of dark spots on leaves, stems, and sometimes fruits. These diseases are primarily caused by various species of fungi, though some bacterial pathogens can also induce similar symptoms. The spots may vary in size, shape, and color, often starting as small, water-soaked areas that enlarge and darken over time, sometimes developing concentric rings or yellow halos.

Commonly affected plants include roses, fruit trees like apples and cherries, and many vegetables. The development and spread of Schwarzfleckenkrankheiten are often favored by warm, humid conditions, making them prevalent during wet seasons. Infection typically occurs when fungal spores, which can overwinter on infected plant debris or in the soil, are splashed onto healthy foliage by rain or irrigation.

Choosing disease-resistant varieties is also a key preventative measure.
