Schlema

Schlema, officially Bad Schlema, is a town in the Erzgebirgskreis district of Saxony, Germany. It lies in the Ore Mountains (Erzgebirge), near the town of Aue, and is known for its historic mining heritage and spa facilities.

The town's history goes back to the Middle Ages, with mining shaping its development for centuries. In the 20th century, the Schlema-Alberoda mine became a major uranium mine operated by SDAG Wismut during the East German period.
