Schleimgel

Schleimgel is a fictional municipality in the northern part of Eldoria, a landlocked country in the Erizen Highlands. The name Schleimgel is derived from Old Eldorian elements meaning "slope village."

Geography and climate: Schleimgel covers about 48 square kilometers. It lies in a wooded valley cut by the Schleinsbach River, with rolling farmland to the west. The climate is temperate with four distinct seasons.

History: Schleimgel traces back to the 12th century as a market village; it received town rights in 1457. The arrival of the railway in 1888 spurred growth; the 20th century saw reconstruction after a fire in 1923 and postwar modernization.

Economy: The local economy combines agriculture (dairy, cereals), small-scale manufacturing (wood products, metal fittings), and services. Tourism is modest, centered on rural life and historic sites.

Governance: Schleimgel operates under a mayor-council system. It is part of the Intermunicipal Council of the Erizen Plateau, sharing services such as waste management and emergency planning.

Culture and landmarks: Landmarks include Schleimgel Castle Ruins, the 16th-century Saint Michael Church, and a traditional harvest festival held each autumn. A regional dialect of Eldorian is spoken alongside standard Eldorian.

Demographics and education: As of the last census, Schleimgel had about 6,400 residents. The town maintains two primary schools and a secondary program through a nearby partner district.
