Sargeras

Sargeras is a central antagonist in the Warcraft universe, primarily known as the Dark Titan and the creator of the Burning Legion. Originally, he was a guardian of immense power and virtue, tasked with defending the cosmos from the Void. However, after witnessing the corrupting influence of the Void and believing that all mortal life was inherently flawed and destined for chaos, Sargeras became disillusioned with his original purpose. He came to believe that the only way to prevent universal corruption was to destroy all life in the universe and start anew.

His transformation into the Dark Titan led him to forge the Burning Legion, a vast demonic army composed of countless races enslaved or corrupted by his will. The Legion's primary objective is to annihilate all sentient life across the cosmos, a goal they have pursued for millennia through numerous invasions of Azeroth and other worlds. Sargeras himself resides in the Twisting Nether, the dimension from which the Legion operates. His actions have led to devastating wars and the fall of many civilizations.

Despite his monumental evil, Sargeras's initial motivations stemmed from a desire to protect the universe from a perceived greater threat. This complex origin story adds a layer to his character, portraying him not as purely malevolent but as a corrupted protector who embraced a destructive philosophy. His influence has shaped much of the history and conflict within the Warcraft lore, making him one of the most significant villains in the franchise.
