Samningsstöðu

Samningsstöðu, or "agreement status" in English, refers to the legal and contractual position of an individual or entity in relation to a binding agreement or contract. In Icelandic law, this term is often used in the context of labor contracts, service agreements, or other formal arrangements where the rights and obligations of the parties involved are defined.

The concept of samningsstöðu is particularly relevant in employment law, where it describes the formal relationship between an employer and an employee. This status determines the legal protections, benefits, and obligations applicable to the worker, such as working hours, wages, termination procedures, and entitlements to social security or unemployment benefits.
