Salamancas

Salamancas is the plural form of Salamanca in Spanish and may refer to multiple places, institutions, or other entities bearing the name Salamanca. In English-language contexts, Salamancas often appears only as part of lists or in reference to the Spanish city and its institutions.

The best-known referent is the city of Salamanca, located in western Spain and the capital of the province of Salamanca, in the autonomous community of Castile and León. It lies on the Tormes River, a tributary of the Douro. Salamanca is a historic university town with a well-preserved medieval core and two cathedrals.
