SaintVentants

SaintVentants is a rural commune in France. Covering about 8.3 square kilometers, it lies on rolling limestone hills and sits at elevations ranging from 260 to 480 meters above sea level. The population is around 420 residents, with a largely agricultural local economy and a small but steady stream of visitors drawn by the countryside and heritage.

The name SaintVentants combines a dedication to a local saint with a historical toponymic element dating to medieval land records. The village's core identity has long been tied to parish life and agriculture. The parish church, dedicated to Saint Vincent, is a central feature and dates to the 12th century, although later renovations have altered interior spaces. The surrounding lands were historically used for vineyards and cereal cultivation; timber and livestock farming have also played a role.

Governance is by a mayor and municipal council within the intercommunal structure of the Hauts Pays community. The current mayor, serving a six-year term from 2020 to 2026, heads the local administration. SaintVentants participates in regional programs for rural development, heritage preservation, and ecotourism.

Landmarks include the Church of Saint Vincent, a 12th-century stone bridge over the valley, and a restored windmill used as a cultural venue.
