SMTPþjónninn
SMTPþjónninn is the Icelandic term for an SMTP server. SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, a standard internet protocol used for sending electronic mail from one server to another. Essentially, an SMTPþjónninn is the software that handles the sending and receiving of emails on a mail server. When a user sends an email, their email client connects to an outgoing SMTPþjónninn, which then relays the message to the recipient's mail server, often using another SMTPþjónninn.
