SDOALT

SDOALT refers to the Solar Dynamics Observatory Atmospheric Imaging Assembly (AIA) limb instrument. The AIA is one of the three main instruments on NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) mission, which was launched in 2010. The AIA instrument suite is designed to observe the Sun in multiple wavelengths of ultraviolet and extreme ultraviolet light. The limb instrument, specifically, is optimized for observing the solar limb, which is the visible edge of the Sun. This vantage point allows scientists to study phenomena that are not always visible from a face-on view of the Sun.

The SDOALT instrument, by observing the limb, provides crucial data for understanding various solar processes. These include the evolution of solar flares, coronal mass ejections (CMEs), and the structure of the solar corona.
