Süüfilise is the Estonian word for syphilis, a sexually transmitted infection caused by the bacterium Treponema pallidum. It is a chronic disease that can affect multiple organ systems if left untreated. Syphilis is typically acquired through direct contact with an infected person's sore, known as a chancre, during sexual activity.
