The primary focus when studying subset collections is to understand their properties, such as size, structure, and relationships between the subsets within the collection. Key questions often revolve around the maximum or minimum size of a collection that satisfies certain criteria, or the number of distinct collections possible under specific constraints.

A particularly important type of subset collection is the power set, which is the set of all possible subsets of a given set. The study of power sets is crucial for understanding the cardinality of sets and the foundations of set theory.
