Rupertsberg
Rupertsberg is a hill located near Bingen am Rhein in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. It is historically significant as the site where Hildegard of Bingen, a medieval abbess, mystic, composer, and philosopher, founded her second monastery in 1150. Hildegard and her community of nuns resided at Rupertsberg until its destruction during the Thirty Years' War in 1632. The original monastery buildings no longer exist, but the location remains a place of pilgrimage and remembrance for those inspired by Hildegard's life and work.
The hill itself offers scenic views of the Rhine River valley. Archaeological investigations have taken place
