Rozruszników

Rozruszników is a Polish term that translates to "starters" in English. It most commonly refers to electrical devices used to start internal combustion engines, particularly in vehicles. A starter motor is a crucial component of any gasoline or diesel engine, responsible for the initial rotation needed to ignite the fuel-air mixture and get the engine running.

The starter motor works by engaging with the engine's flywheel or flexplate. When the ignition key is turned or the start button is pressed, an electric current flows through the starter motor, causing it to spin. This spinning motion is transferred to the engine's crankshaft, overcoming the engine's internal resistance and allowing it to begin its combustion cycle. Once the engine is running under its own power, the starter motor disengages.

Modern starter motors are typically direct current (DC) electric motors. They receive power from the vehicle's battery. Key components of a starter system include the starter motor itself, a solenoid or starter relay which acts as a switch to control the high current flow, and the starter drive gear which engages with the engine's flywheel. Various types of starter motors exist, including conventional types and gear-reduction types, which offer more torque for their size.

The term "rozrusznik" can also be used more broadly to refer to any device that initiates a process or action, though its primary association is with engine starting systems. In a mechanical context, it emphasizes the initiating function of a component.
