Rozpustnosti, also known as solubility, refers to the ability of a substance, known as the solute, to dissolve in a solvent to form a homogeneous mixture called a solution. The extent to which a solute dissolves in a solvent is determined by several factors, including temperature, pressure, and the nature of the solute and solvent molecules.

Temperature plays a crucial role in solubility. Generally, the solubility of solids and liquids increases with temperature, while the solubility of gases decreases. This is because higher temperatures provide more energy for the solute particles to overcome the attractive forces holding them together and to disperse throughout the solvent.

Pressure also influences solubility, particularly for gases. According to Henry's Law, the solubility of a gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of the gas above the liquid. This means that increasing the pressure of a gas will increase its solubility in a liquid.

The nature of the solute and solvent molecules also affects solubility. Like dissolves like, meaning that substances with similar intermolecular forces tend to be more soluble in each other. For example, polar solutes dissolve more readily in polar solvents, while nonpolar solutes dissolve better in nonpolar solvents.

In some cases, the solubility of a solute in a solvent may be limited by the formation of a precipitate, which is a solid that forms when the concentration of the solute in the solution exceeds its solubility limit. This can occur when the solution is cooled, the solvent evaporates, or additional solute is added beyond the solubility limit.
