Online updates and real-time data pose challenges for maintaining accurate routes, while offline preprocessing can substantially reduce query times.

Applications span car navigation, delivery routing, ride-hailing, public transit trip planning, and autonomous mobility. Limitations include data quality, model fidelity, and the need to balance optimality with computational resources in large, dynamic networks.
