Rotorstatorseadmed, often referred to as rotating electrical machines, are fundamental devices that convert electrical energy into mechanical energy or vice versa. They are characterized by two primary components: a rotor and a stator. The stator is the stationary part of the machine, typically containing windings or permanent magnets. The rotor is the rotating part, also equipped with windings, permanent magnets, or conductive bars, depending on the machine's type.

The interaction between the magnetic fields generated by the stator and the rotor is the core principle behind their operation. In electric motors, electrical energy supplied to the stator creates a rotating magnetic field, which then induces currents in the rotor. This induced current interacts with the stator's magnetic field, producing a torque that causes the rotor to spin. In generators, mechanical energy is used to rotate the rotor. This rotation within the stator's magnetic field induces an electromotive force (EMF) in the stator windings, generating electrical energy.

There are several common types of rotorstatorseadmed. These include DC motors and generators, which operate on direct current, and AC motors and generators, which utilize alternating current. Further classifications within AC machines include synchronous and asynchronous (induction) motors. The specific design and configuration of the rotor and stator, along with the electrical supply, determine the performance characteristics and applications of each type of rotorstatorseadmed. These devices are ubiquitous, powering everything from household appliances and industrial machinery to electric vehicles and power generation systems.
