Rléan

Rléan is a small town and commune in the valley of the River Lys, within the fictional nation of Valoria. It combines a historic town center with surrounding agricultural lands and serves as a local hub for commerce and culture.

Geographically, Rléan sits at about 120 meters above sea level, with a temperate, oceanic climate and mild summers. The riverine landscape supports orchards and vineyards, while forests to the north provide recreational areas.

Founded in the late medieval period as a trading settlement, Rléan grew under guild patronage and royal charters. It is governed by a mayor and a 14-member municipal council elected for four-year terms; it forms part of the Valorian district.

The local economy relies on agriculture—apples, pears, and wine—as well as small manufacturing and tourism. The town is connected by regional rail and bus services; a small marina along the Lys supports boating activities.

Cultural life centers on the weekly market, an early-17th-century parish church, and the annual Harvest Festival. Notable landmarks include the Vellin Bridge and the Old Town Hall, which houses a municipal museum.

Rléan's population is predominantly Valorian-speaking, with minority communities and regional dialects. The town hosts primary and secondary schools, plus a satellite campus of the Valorian Institute of Technology.

Notable residents include the 19th-century botanist Aline Dore and contemporary author Marc Tael, both associated with local institutions.
