Ribchester is a village and civil parish in Lancashire, England. It is situated on the River Ribble, approximately eight miles east of Preston. Historically, Ribchester was a significant Roman site, known as Bremetennacum or Bremetennacum Veteranorum. The Romans established a fort there to control the area and protect trade routes.
