Rhineland-Palatines, officially known as Rhineland-Palatinate (German: Rheinland-Pfalz), is a federal state (Bundesland) located in western Germany. It borders North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, and Saarland, with a western boundary along the Rhine River, which forms part of the country's border with Luxembourg, Belgium, and France. The state was established after World War II in 1946, primarily by the merging of the northern parts of the former Prussian Rhine Province and the Bavarian Rhenish Palatinate.

Rhineland-Palatinate covers an area of approximately 19,854 square kilometers and has a population of around 4 million residents.
