Rhaegal was one of three dragon eggs gifted to Daenerys Targaryen by Illyrio Mopatis. The egg was described as being the color of bronze scales, with streaks of green and gold. It hatched in the Dothraki Sea during a funeral pyre, along with two other eggs, Viserion and Drogon, making Daenerys the first dragonrider in centuries.
