Resursointielin, also known as resource-based view or resource dependence theory, is a perspective in international relations that emphasizes the role of resources in shaping international politics. This theory suggests that states' capabilities and behaviors are largely determined by their access to and control over resources. Resources can include natural resources like oil, minerals, and water, as well as human resources like skilled labor and educated populations.

The resource-based view posits that states with abundant resources are more powerful and influential in international politics. These states can use their resources to gain economic advantages, maintain political stability, and exert influence over other states. Conversely, states with limited resources may be more dependent on other states for their survival and development.

The theory also highlights the importance of resource control in international conflicts. States may engage in wars or other forms of coercion to secure access to valuable resources. Additionally, the theory suggests that resource abundance can lead to resource curses, where the benefits of resource wealth do not translate into economic development and can even lead to political instability.

Critics of the resource-based view argue that it oversimplifies the complex dynamics of international politics. They contend that other factors, such as ideology, culture, and technology, also play significant roles in shaping states' capabilities and behaviors. Despite these criticisms, the resource-based view remains a valuable framework for understanding the role of resources in international relations.
