Restriktív

Restriktív is an adjective meaning restrictive or tending to impose restrictions. It is used in several languages to describe limitations in scope, action, or interpretation. In Hungarian, restriktív is a loanword used across domains to indicate something that constrains or qualifies boundaries, rules, or judgments.

In linguistics, a restrictive (defining) clause limits the meaning of the noun it modifies, as opposed to a non-restrictive (non-defining) clause, which merely adds extra information. In English grammar, restrictive clauses are not set off by commas; non-restrictive clauses are. In Hungarian grammar the concept is expressed as korlátozó mellékmondat.
