Resolvataan

Resolvataan is a Finnish verb form used to express that a problem, question, or matter is in the process of being resolved. It is the present passive form of resolvata, a loanword adapted from the English "resolve" to Finnish morphology. The construction is impersonal: the agent who carries out the resolution is not stated.

Resolvataan is most common in technical, administrative, and service communications where the emphasis is on the outcome rather than on who performs the action. It can convey immediacy or planned action when used with time expressions such as "parhaillaan" or "tänään".

Grammatically, resolvataan behaves like other Finnish passives: the subject is indefinite and the sentence centers on the action of resolving rather than on the doer. It is typically used in statements about ongoing work or expected results, e.g., "Ongelma resolvataan parhaillaan" (The problem is being resolved right now).

While resolvataan is idiomatic in many contexts, some contexts prefer more standard Finnish alternatives, such as "ratkaistaan" (it will be solved) or other nominal forms to name the process. In IT terminology, the process of resolving a request or a query may also be described with related terms borrowed from English, depending on the audience.
