Renholding

Renholding is a term that typically refers to a holding company whose primary assets consist of shares in other companies, often with the intention of controlling or influencing their management and strategic direction. These companies, also known as parent companies, do not usually engage in their own operational activities. Instead, their main function is to own and manage a portfolio of subsidiaries or other businesses. The purpose of a renholding structure can vary, including diversification of investments, centralized management of a group of companies, tax advantages, or facilitating mergers and acquisitions.

The value of a renholding company is derived from the combined value of its holdings. Shareholders of the renholding company effectively own a stake in all the underlying businesses.
