Reflektovány

Reflektovány is the plural past passive participle of the Czech verb reflektovat. It indicates that something has undergone reflection, either in a literal sense (such as light or sound being reflected by a surface) or in a figurative sense (an idea, argument, or phenomenon being reflected upon or considered). Reflektovat is a loanword in Czech, most likely borrowed from German reflektieren or English reflect, and it entered Czech vocabulary in the modern period, where it appears in scientific, academic, and literary contexts.

In usage, reflektovat covers both physical and intellectual kinds of reflection. In optics or physics, it can describe light, radiation, or signals that have been reflected by a surface. In philosophy, sociology, journalism, or everyday discourse, it describes the act of thinking about or examining something, for example a problem or a situation, and presenting a considered response.

The term coexists with more common Czech verbs for specific senses. For physical reflection of light, odrážet or odražení is often preferred, while reflektovat emphasizes a deliberate or analytic process of reflection rather than mere bounce. The participle forms agree with the subject in number and gender, so reflektovány appears with plural subjects, with other forms used for singular or gendered subjects.
