Redigeerite is a mineral name that has appeared in scattered mineralogical references but is not widely recognized as a valid mineral by major authorities. As a result, its definition, composition, and properties remain unsettled.

Current reliable sources do not provide a definitive chemical formula, crystal system, or distinguishing physical characteristics for redigeerite. There is no established type specimen or widely cited locality, and the name does not appear in standard reference works as a confirmed mineral species.

In some cases, the term redigeerite seems to be used as a misspelling or informal synonym of other minerals with similar spellings, or as a provisional label in regional reports without formal description. This contributes to uncertainty about its status and hinders consistent usage in scientific communication.

Because of the lack of authoritative data, redigeerite is generally treated as obscure or dubious in mineralogical literature, and it is not included in widely adopted classification schemes such as the Strunz or Dana systems. The name may reflect historical nomenclature practices, later corrections, or misidentifications rather than a distinct, verified mineral species.

Until then, it remains a dubious or regional label rather than an established mineral name.
