Raudkatalüütorit is a mineral belonging to the spinel group, characterized by its distinctive red color and high iron content. It is primarily composed of iron oxide (Fe2O3) and aluminum oxide (Al2O3), with the chemical formula FeO.Al2O3. The mineral is named after its red color, which is due to the presence of iron in its crystal structure, and its association with the mineral catalc, hence the name "raudkatalüütorit."

Raudkatalüütorit typically forms in metamorphic rocks, particularly in contact metamorphic zones around igneous intrusions.
