Rainierin
Rainierin is a naturally occurring chemical compound classified as a lignan. Lignans are a diverse group of polyphenolic compounds found in plants, and they are known for their various biological activities. Rainierin was first isolated from the bark of trees belonging to the genus *Acer*, commonly known as maples. Specifically, it has been identified in species such as *Acer ginnala* (Amur maple) and *Acer truncatum*.
The chemical structure of rainierin is characterized by its two phenylpropane units linked by a C-C bond.
