Rahoma

Rahoma is a city and coastal port in the fictional nation of Eldara, located on the delta of the Serin River near the Zephyr Sea. It is the administrative center of Eldara Province and serves as a commercial hub for the surrounding region. The city has a diverse population drawn from inland communities and immigrant workers, with languages including Eldari and trade dialects.

The city sits on a flat alluvial plain, with mangroves along the shore, and experiences a warm, humid climate with a rainy season from May to October. The port is sheltered by a natural breakwater and supports a fishing fleet and cargo facilities.

Rahoma was established in the 12th century as a trading post and grew through riverine trade and maritime links. It developed urban governance in the 18th century and expanded after the mid-20th century with road and rail connections.

The city operates under a mayor-council system. The city council governs municipal services, and its subdivisions include four wards. Law enforcement is provided by municipal police with regional oversight.

The port handles agro-industrial goods, timber, and manufactured products. Commerce centers on logistics, ship services, and a growing tourist sector focused on waterfront culture and markets.

Rahoma hosts annual markets, a riverside promenade, and a maritime museum. Local cuisine emphasizes fish dishes and citrus fruits.

The city hosts a regional campus of Eldara University and several technical institutes. Transportation links include a seaport, an international airport nearby, and rail connections to major inland cities.
