Radiationsübertragung

Radiationsübertragung, also known as radiation transfer or radiative transfer, is the physical process by which energy is transported through electromagnetic waves. This phenomenon occurs across the vacuum of space, as well as through transparent or semi-transparent media. Unlike conduction and convection, which require a medium to propagate, radiation does not need a physical substance to travel. The most familiar example is the Sun's energy reaching Earth as light and heat.

The fundamental principle behind radiationsübertragung is that all objects with a temperature above absolute zero emit electromagnetic radiation. The intensity and spectral distribution of this emitted radiation depend on the object's temperature and its radiative properties, such as emissivity. When this radiation encounters another object, it can be absorbed, reflected, or transmitted. The absorbed portion of the radiation increases the internal energy of the absorbing object, potentially raising its temperature.
