Radarrespons is a coined term describing the observable response of a radar system to a target and its environment. It integrates the transmitted waveform, propagation channel, target scattering (RCS), receiver chain, and processing that produces a detectable echo and estimated target parameters. The concept is closely related to the standard radar response or radar return found in radar theory, but may appear in some texts as a single-term descriptor.

The radarrespons can be described by the impulse response or transfer function of the radar system. It includes the range profile (time delay corresponding to distance), the Doppler signature (frequency shift due to motion), and the angular information obtained through beamforming or scanning. Polarization and clutter influence the multipath and signal-to-noise characteristics, shaping the observed echo.

Modeling often uses the ambiguity function to evaluate trade-offs between range and velocity resolution, while calibration and measurement relate observed echoes to physical quantities such as range, velocity, and radar cross section. Common metrics include range resolution, Doppler resolution, detection probability, and false alarm rate.

Applications span surveillance, air traffic control, weather sensing, navigation, and defense systems. Understanding radarrespons helps engineers optimize waveform design, processing algorithms, and calibration procedures to improve detection performance and target parameter estimation.
