Rabieyeh

Rabieyeh, also spelled Rabieh or Rabieyeh, is a residential neighborhood in the Metn District of the Mount Lebanon Governorate, Lebanon. It lies on the hills northeast of Beirut and forms part of the Beirut metropolitan area. The area is known for its hillside setting, offering views of the coast and surrounding countryside. Rabieh is primarily a suburban community with a mix of private villas, townhouses, and apartment buildings, reflecting a middle- to upper-middle-class character.

Development in Rabieh accelerated during the late 20th century as Beirut’s suburbs expanded. Today the neighborhood hosts a range of local services, including shops, supermarkets, restaurants, clinics, and schools, serving residents and nearby communities. It is connected to central Beirut and other parts of the Metn by major roads and public transportation, with traffic commonly experienced during peak hours. Public life centers on residential streets, and the area includes various religious and cultural sites distributed throughout.

The population is predominantly Lebanese, comprising families and professionals who commute to work in Beirut or nearby towns. Rabieh is part of the broader Metn region, which comprises several hill and coastal towns along the Mediterranean.
