Rabattprosent is the percentage by which the selling price of a product or service is reduced from its original price. It is used in sales promotions, pricing campaigns, and customer loyalty programs in retail and online commerce. The term is common in Nordic markets, but the concept is universal.

Calculation: Rabattprosent = (discount amount / original price) × 100. The discounted price is original price × (100 − rabattprosent)/100. Example: If the original price is 200 and the rabattprosent is 15%, the discount is 30 and the final price is 170.

Applications: Rabattprosent is used in promotions, seasonal sales, bulk discounts, and loyalty tier programs. Businesses often vary rabattprosent by product line, customer segment, or purchase quantity. Some offers present a fixed kronor amount instead of a percentage; both forms affect consumer perception and revenue differently.
