Raamjoont

Raamjoont is an Estonian term used in architecture and carpentry to denote the line that defines the edge or boundary of a frame, most commonly a window or door frame, in drawings, measurements, and construction work. The word combines raam (“frame”) and joon (“line”), with the -t ending typical for certain nominal forms in Estonian.

In practice, the raamjoont serves as a reference line for aligning components, marking where plaster, trim, or glazing should end, and it can be used on plans and cross-sections to ensure accurate fitting. Builders use it when calculating tolerances, placing mullions, or planning the sequence of installation. In architectural drawings, the raamjoont may appear as a dimension line or as a guide for carpenters to cut and assemble frames consistently.
